2008-2009 Regional Programming

SCBWI Western Washington regional programming runs from September 1st to August 31st of each year (regardless of the time of year you sign up). Now’s the perfect time to sign up and receive a passport to our regular monthly meetings held on the second Wednesday of every month from September through April, The Chinook quarterly newsletter, and a free subscription to the Chinook Update, our weekly e-newsletter. Professional Series Meetings

Our Professional Series Meetings take place at Seattle Pacific University - Demaray Hall, Room 150. Registration at 6:45 p.m., program at 7:00 p.m. Get Map and Directions here. Get Your Work Fit This Fall with Two New York Editors

This fall SCBWI Western Washington is pleased to welcome not one, but two New York editors to Seattle! In September, Alexandra Penfold, Associate Editor for Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers, will join us for a first-pages workshop, manuscript consultations, art show review, and keynote presentation.

Mark Siegel, Editorial Director for First Second Books, will visit Seattle in October, leading a special two-hour graphic novel creators’ workshop and delivering a keynote address.

Call for Workshop Presenters
SCBWI Western Washington is seeking workshop presenters for our 2009-2010 year. Our chapter holds monthly Professional Series Meetings from October through April, and hosts an annual conference each spring. We welcome fresh and compelling workshop ideas for any of these events!
